OUR WORK

A good way to think about our work is represented by the Community Impact Triangle. The base of the triangle is the Community Care Fund. It is the foundation of our work and includes support for our neighbors in times of need. As we become more aware of the critical problems facing our community, we bring together the people and resources to identify lasting solutions:

Youth: Helping youth reach their potential through school
readiness activities, quality programs outside of school
       hours and positive mentoring relationships.
   •  Health: Improving access to quality, affordable health and
dental care, and helping people live drug-free.
   •  Families: Helping familes become financially self-sufficient,
       independent and safe.

Together, with community partners, we are identifying the root cause of persistent problems and finding ways to solve them. Our targeted initiatives are:

Born Learning, a School Readiness Initiative

Substance Abuse Recovery & Prevention Initiative

United Way invites you to serve on one of our Initiative's coalitions, or participate on our review teams to assess where community funds should be directed for maximum impact. Contact Stacey Nelson-Kumar.
