Treasure Valley United Way raises $5.4 million for the community
United Way of Treasure Valley raised $5.4 million during its 2007-08 community fundraising campaign — a 2 percent increase over last year.
The campaign began last September, bringing in donations from more than 360 local organizations and 15,000 individuals.
Local partners, or “Corporate Champions,” underwrite United Way’s administrative costs, so that all the money donated by the public can fund a range of local projects, including parent education programs, early childhood education, health programs for seniors and many more.
United Way campaigns also support the “Community Care Fund,” which last year awarded grants to 57 youth, family, and health programs in the Treasure Valley.
United Way will announce the 2008 grant recipients at the group’s annual meeting, April 22.
