Sally Zive, who’s leaving her post at the head of United Way of Treasure Valley after more than a decade, will receive a “Special Citizen Commendation” from Boise Mayor Dave Bieter.
Bieter will present the award at 2:15 p.m., Tuesday at the Bonneville Room, third floor, Boise City Hall, 150 N. Capitol Blvd., immediately after the council meeting. A reception will follow.
Zive, who’s leaving her post to seek treatment for ovarian cancer, has overseen the creation of several programs, including United Way’s early childhood education project, “Born Learning,” as well as a record-breaking year for fundraising.
Developer Derick O’Neill, a Boise native, will become agency director Feb. 1.
